The MSc in real estate from the University of Hong Kong studies real estate from a commercial and economic perspective. The objectives of the program are threefold. The first objective is to introduce students to real estate assets and markets within the overall framework of laws, institutions, and the urban economy. The second objective is to provide students with theoretical insight and analytical skills to identify and assess private and public sector real estate investment opportunities, including land development, asset management, financial market transactions (such as REIT), and innovative land conversion enterprises (such as Pere). The third objective is to equip students with the necessary management skills to understand and participate in the functions and general management of enterprises active in the real estate market.
Master of Science in real estate curriculum of the University of Hong Kong
(1) 12 courses including compulsory courses and elective courses;
(2) Nine courses, including required and elective courses, plus a thesis.
The prescribed courses include

-Planning and architectural development;
-Real estate and construction industry law;

-Property valuation - Principles and practices;
-System analysis of urban research;
-Real estate asset pricing theory

The master of Science (real estate) program, including all its specialties, is recognized by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS).
Admission requirements for Master of Science in real estate at the University of Hong Kong
To qualify for the course, applicants must meet both the University's admission requirements and the specific requirements of the following courses:
(a) Abide by the "postgraduate Syllabus" and "postgraduate Syllabus";
(b) Holding a bachelor's degree from the university or equivalent qualifications of the university or other similar body accepted for the purpose;
(c) Applicants who seek admission qualifications from a university or similar institution outside Hong Kong for language teaching and / or examination are not English, and the University shall meet the English language requirements applicable under general rule G2 (b) of the general rule.
(d) If necessary, satisfy the examiner in the qualification examination.
